The lives of the kings were recorded in the Bible to offer us not just lessons from history, but lessons of history. Those who fail to learn from them are bound to make the same mistakes. Also, more insights were given concerning the lives of the wicked rather than the lives of the righteous, because God desires for us to learn from the failures of others so that we do not follow in their footsteps. The story of King Uzziah was one which started well but ended tragically. His life serves as a lesson to encourage us to walk in the paths of righteousness. And by the grace of God, we want our end to be far more glorious than our beginning.
