Sloth is less about laziness, but having sheer apathy in the face of the known will of God. It’s the state of being indifferent to something that should otherwise stir and provoke you. The saying goes that cooling down a fanatic is easier than warming up a corpse. When a person ceases to care, he ceases to attempt change. The Bible describes such a person as being haughty in his self-appraisal, yet his vineyard is in disrepair. Such a posture is a sin and must be dealt with ruthlessly and consistently.
